SO WE WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT OUR, OUR, OUR, OUR TEAM IS OUT AND ADDRESSING THE NEEDS OF THE COMMUNITY FROM THE STANDPOINT OF THE CAR SEATS WE HAVE COMPLETED AS OF 2024, WE'VE ALREADY DONE 86 CAR SEAT INSPECTIONS, AND WE HAVE TEAMS THAT GO TO THE STATION OR FOLKS THAT GO TO THE STATION, AND WE'LL PROVIDE THE INSPECTIONS, OR WE GO TO THE EVENTS THEMSELVES. AND THEN ALSO THE CHP TEAMS HAVE ALSO HAVE DONATED 77 CAR SEATS TO PEOPLE THAT COULD NOT AFFORD A CAR SEAT OR JUST NEEDED A CAR SEAT FOR THEIR, FOR THEIR, FOR THEIR CHILD. SO PROGRAM WORKS REALLY WELL AND WE TAKE, WE TAKE REALLY GOOD PRIDE IN THE FACT THAT KNOWING THAT WE WANT TO KEEP OUR KIDS IN THE, IN OUR IN A SAFE CAR SEAT, A LITTLE BIT ABOUT OUR VALLEY AND OUR CRITICAL TRANSPORT TEAM WE HAVE SEEN, UNFORTUNATELY, WE LIVE IN AN AREA THAT HAS A GREAT NUMBER OF HYPERTENSION AND CORONARY ARTERIAL DISEASE, BASICALLY, AND WE'RE SEEING MORE AND MORE PATIENTS THAT ARE REQUIRING HEART TRANSPLANTS OR JUST MAJOR CARDIAC SURGERY. AND SO ONE OF THE THINGS THAT WE HAVE BEEN WORKING CLOSELY WITH DIFFERENT VENDORS IS THE TYPE OF TRAINING THAT WE RECEIVE. WE'RE TALKING ABOUT SOME REALLY CRITICAL PATIENTS. TWO DAYS AGO, WE FLEW A PATIENT THAT WAS ON AN IMPELLA DEVICE, SUCH AS THE TRAINING THAT WE'RE RECEIVING HERE. SOME OF OUR, OUR, OUR FLIGHT CREWS ARE ALREADY TRAINED IN IMPELLA DEVICES, BUT WE WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT EVERYBODY IS AWARE OF IT. AND SO THE IMPELLA IS ONE OF THE VERY SMALL HEART PUMP. WE USE IT IN THE HOSPITALS TO STABILIZE THE PATIENT AND THEN GET THEM TO WHERE THEY NEED TO GO FOR THAT, FOR THAT NEXT PROCEDURE. THE GENTLEMAN WE TRANSPORTED TWO DAYS AGO ENDED UP GOING TO HOUSTON AND I UNDERSTAND IS DOING REALLY WELL RIGHT NOW, BUT WAS VERY SICK HERE. ONE OF THE ONE OF OUR DIFFICULT AIR FLIGHTS THAT WE THAT WE DO ARE THESE TYPE OF PATIENTS BECAUSE OF THEIR INSTABILITY. AND SO WE MOVE THESE PATIENTS UNFORTUNATELY ON THE FREQUENT SIDE. AND WE ALSO JUST WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT OUR COMMUNITY IS AWARE THAT, YOU KNOW, WE NEED TO TAKE CARE OF OURSELVES. CORONARY VASCULAR DISEASE IS ONE OF OUR BIG ISSUES HERE IN THE RIO GRANDE VALLEY. AND WE WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT THAT WE TAKE CARE OF OURSELVES AND, AND GET THE CARE THAT WE NEED. AND OF COURSE, FOLLOW UP WITH PHYSICIANS AND WHAT HAVE YOU.BUT BUT DEFINITELY, WE'RE SEEING THIS TYPE OF PATIENTS BEING MOVED MORE FREQUENTLY OUT OF THE VALLEY. AND UNFORTUNATELY, WE DON'T HAVE A MAJOR CARDIAC CENTER IN THE AREA. SO WE HAVE TO EITHER GO TO SAINT LUKE'S OR ONE OF THE BIG FACILITIES IN SAN ANTONIO. LIKE I WAS TELLING YOU WITH THE COMMISSIONER, KINSLEY COMMENTS ABOUT THE HEAT. WE ALSO WORK WITH OUR DIFFERENT ORGANIZATIONS HERE WITH THE KIDS PARTICULARLY. WE HAVE SEEN A COUPLE OF DROWNINGS ALREADY NEAR DROWNINGS, OR THEY CALL NEAR DROWNINGS SOMEBODY THAT ACTUALLY DIDN'T DROWN, BUT IN THE PROCESS OF DROWNING. AND THOSE CAN BE REALLY CRITICAL FOR SOME OF THESE KIDS. SO WE WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT WE GO OUT AND CONTINUE TO EDUCATE OUR COMMUNITY ON THE TYPE OF EMERGENCIES THAT WE'RE SEEING. AND DEFINITELY POOL SAFETY IS ONE OF THE BIG ONES, AND WE DEFINITELY SEE AN INCREASE DURING THE SUMMER OF THESE TYPE OF INJURIES. WE ALSO SEE MORE BIKES IN THE STREET, MORE KIDS OUT RIDING BIKES AND WHAT HAVE YOU. SO WE WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT THE KIDS ARE WEARING ONE GONE THROUGH BICYCLE TYPE OF TRAINING. AND ALSO THE BICYCLE HELMETS ARE REALLY IMPORTANT TO KEEP OUR OUR, OUR KIDS SAFE WHEN THEY'RE OUT RIDING THE BIKES, THE BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB AND ALL THE DIFFERENT ORGANIZATIONS THAT WE HAVE IN THE CITY DO A GREAT JOB OF TAKING CARE OF OUR KIDS, AND I THINK THAT WE JUST NEED TO DO A BETTER JOB IN MAKING SURE THAT THEY'RE WEARING THE SAFETY EQUIPMENT AND EVERYTHING THAT THEY THAT ARE REQUIRED TO STAY SAFE AND, AND A FUN SUMMER VERSUS BEING SPENT IN THE HOSPITAL. BLOOD PROGRAM. SO WE WE'VE BEEN WORKING WITH THE TRACK OFFICE AND ACTUALLY WITH THE STATE OF TEXAS ON, ON THE WHOLE BLOOD PROJECT. SO PRE-HOSPITAL BLOOD SAVES LIVES. SO IF YOU THINK ABOUT CPR, CPR SAVES LIVES, BLOOD SAVES LIVES. AND WE'RE TALKING ABOUT WHOLE BLOOD, IT CAN DECREASE THE MORTALITY BY 60% AND THEN DEFINITELY HAVE BETTER OUTCOMES WITH SOME OF OUR PATIENTS. THE GOAL YOU KNOW WE APPROACH OUR AND YOU GUYS, SOME OF YOU GUYS SAW ME IN AUSTIN AT AT STATE MEETINGS OVER THERE. AND I ATTEND QUARTERLY MEETINGS IN AUSTIN. AND SO MEETING WITH OUR LEGISLATIVE FOLKS OVER THERE AND TALKING ABOUT THE REQUEST FOR FUNDS TO HAVE WHOLE BLOOD THROUGHOUT THE STATE OF TEXAS. INITIALLY, OUR GROUP, THE STATE OF TEXAS WHOLE BLOOD PROJECT, BASICALLY, WE APPROACHED THE LEGISLATIVE FOLKS, ASKED THEM IF WE COULD HAVE SOME FUNDING FOR THIS PROJECT.
